Change the Door Style Without Rebuilding the Whole Kitchen

When the boxes work but the doors date the room, refacing or redooring can create the larger visual change you actually want.

Change the Door Style Without Rebuilding the Whole Kitchen

Refacing changes more than color

A new door profile can move the kitchen from ornate traditional styling to a cleaner Shaker or other updated look while preserving usable cabinet boxes.

Door replacement requires accurate measurement

Overlay, opening size, hinge type, pair gaps and panel relationships all affect the finished alignment. Measurement and final fitting are part of the visual quality.

Exterior surfaces have to coordinate

New doors alone can look disconnected if the cabinet frames, ends, toe kicks and visible panels are not planned as part of the same exterior finish.

Refacing is not always necessary

If you already like the door profile, refinishing may give you the result for less disruption. We recommend the level of work based on the change you actually want.

Selected carpentry can be added

Depending on scope, projects may also include crown, trim, panels, cabinet-to-ceiling build-ups or other specifically quoted modifications.

Questions to ask

Know what you are buying before the doors come down.

A strong cabinet proposal should be clear about preparation, coatings, what is finished, what is replaced, warranty and exclusions.

Is refacing the same as refinishing?

No. Refinishing changes the finish on existing doors. Refacing or redooring changes the visible door and drawer-front style while retaining usable cabinet boxes.

Can I switch to Shaker doors?

Often, yes. If the boxes are sound, replacement Shaker doors can create a major style change without replacing the entire cabinet system.

Do you replace hinges?

Hinge requirements depend on the new door style, overlay and cabinet construction. Hardware is confirmed as part of measurement and scope.

Can refacing include new trim?

Yes, selected projects can include trim, panels, crown or other exterior modifications when they are specifically included in the written scope.
